Wade Vernon: Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)

Texas State Massage License #MTO23004

I have been a masseur in full time practice since the Summer of 1992. Originally schooling under the tutelage of Jonathan Walker, a gifted masseur who taught massage courses all over the U.S. and Canada, over the years I have developed my own style of bodywork--as all bodyworkers do. There are probably as many types of massage styles as there are types of people and points of view.

My massages combine Deep Tissue/Swedish styles with Shiatsu and meridian awareness, Reiki energy channeling/energy balancing, with some Trager and Lomi-lomi mixed in. For competition athletes, I use some Sports Massage techniques as well. My studio is in a room in my home, located minutes from downtown near the intersection of MoPac & Southwest Parkway. The relaxing atmosphere is enhanced by indirect lighting, candles, and a home theater system playing New Age/Classical/Ambient music (your choice).

Austin Fitness Massage Therapy

I have taken many classes and studied myriad modalities of bodywork, and have also enhanced my techniques by trading massages with many gifted therapists. This was especially true at Ten Thousand Waves Japanese Health Spa of Santa Fe, New Mexico, where I worked as a therapist for over 6 years. I met some incredible, World Class therapists there, and I miss both their company and their touch. (But, alas, I love Austin about ten thousand times more than Santa Fe!) If you ever want to experience one of the top spas in America, I urge you to give The Waves a try. Feel free to contact me if you want insider info on therapists and treatments.

In all my travels I have massaged thousands of men and women of every conceivable body and personality type, including Olympic athletes, celebrities, international socialites and everyday working class Americans like myself. I have no preference as to who is on my table. The only thing I insist upon is that there is a sense of mutual respect in our session, particularly regarding time commitments and intent. This means that you arrive on time, and understand if you arrive late, the massage still terminates at the end of the session you reserved. (I'm willing to make exceptions if a client calls me in advance to say they may be running late due to traffic problems--provided I don't have another booking shortly after theirs). Massage intent means that I drape you in a professional manner--as taught by Ten Thousand Waves--and I provide you with healing energy and relaxing, therapeutic bodywork in a clean, professional atmosphere. Both parties are clear about what is being given, and what is being received.

Wade does an amazing job making me feel comfortable and relaxed during each session, primarily using deep tissue techniques (my preference). His bodywork style is confident and knowledgeable, leaving me feeling invigorated and grounded. A true professional who really knows his art."...Don B., Austin, TX
